Birdwatching
Ellie spent quite a while practicing her birdwatching skills. She found
that it was much easier to use the binoculars if she focused on the bird with
the naked eye and then raised the binoculars into place without breaking eye
contact. Her favorite subject, of course, was the egret!
We also spent some time studying the ducks on the pond. Their fishing
habits were much different from those of the egret. The ducks would quickly
swim back and forth on the water and grab at things under the water.
(Note:
Every time we went to take a picture, the ducks buried their heads under the
water!)
